Usually, the kids and I would just wait for everyone else in the mini playground near the Jollibee branch here - I don't get to shop huhuhuhuhu - but last Sunday was different since we learned that there's an actual zoo in this gasoline station: Zoo World.
Zoo World isn't that big a zoo but it is pretty impressive for a zoo in a gasoline station. The entrance fee is also cheap. It's Php99 for anyone who's above 3 feet tall. Kids below 3 feet go in for free so in this case, I only had to pay for my cousin, Stacey's, yaya and myself.

(That girl on the window is so soft-spoken, I had to ask her to repeat everything she said twice before I fully understood her.) |
Upon entering Zoo World, of course, we were greeted by the rules and regulations that they implement while inside their premisses:
In the middle of the entire area of the zoo, there's a stage:
I assume that this is where they conduct the zoo briefing for school tours as well as the performances of some of the animals. A whole class of 40 students will probably fit this area.
Their animal collection is pretty big for the size of the zoo, including a bear, 3 species of snakes, 2 species of tigers, a whole lot of birds, marsupials, and lizards. There were even 2 dogs; a German shepherd and a St. Bernard (I think) which I didn't get to see because Brianna didn't want to go near the "big dogs, Mommy, scary!"
When we arrived in this area of Zoo World, the overwhelming scent of the marsupials hit us so hard, my cousin almost puked everything she ate for lunch.
That little guy on the left attacked the glass when my daughter got a little too close - I mean, I should've seen it coming; look at that face! - to the cage so please follow that rule quite literally. You would think that the bear or the tigers will be the ones to attack people who got too close but no, the cute owl was the one who did.
Aside from these animals, there are also small rabbits and guinea pigs that the kids can feed (a huge chunk of carrot on a stick) for Php 20:

Brianna was dancing non-stop because they started playing songs out loud. |
Kids really have fun when they interact with the animals. Brianna couldn't get enough! She wanted to feed the rabbits and the guinea pigs even after we fed them 2 carrots.
We saw a pony upon entering the zoo. I actually forgot what his name is - I blame CS - but Brianna calls her Applejack, after that My Little Pony character.
And since Brianna can't get over the fact that they can feed some of the animals:
Overall, it was a fun experience although it's quite bitin. I enjoy zoos with more mammals than birds - that's why I enjoyed Zoobic Safari, Residence Inn, and Avilon Zoo in Rizal so much - but what matters most is Brianna's happy and suffice to say, she enjoyed herself so much. She didn't want to go home after visiting the zoo. She wanted to feed the rabbits more carrots! Haha!
Brianna misplaced the brochure for this zoo - huhuhuhu - and there aren't any information posted anywhere online so I can't publish any contact details for Zoo World right now but they are located at the Caltex station along NLEx in San Fernando, Pampanga. If you're on your way back to Manila from the North, give it a quick visit with your kids and see it for yourself
Great bonding moment mommy. Ako may fear ako sa mga reptiles :( Sana when we go somewhere like that eh mawala ng kaunti yung fear kasi ramdam ng kids, the feeling are mutual :(. Great photos and surely happy si Brianna :)
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed great although I have a fear of reptiles as well. Kinikilabutan ako pag lumalapit sa cages ng snakes and crocodiles but I have to suck it up para di rin matakot si Brianna. :)
DeleteI saw this zoo in Caltex station, that's where we ate lunch before heading home kasi. We did not check the place because we just came from Zoobic Safari. Now I know, kung anong meron sa loob. hehehe!
ReplyDeleteZoo overload ba pag pumasok pa? Hehe. It's nice kahit maliit. :)
DeleteNice! The entrance fee is very affordable and I agree with you, I enjoyed Zoobic Safari. Brianna is so cute, sana pwede silang mag ride sa pony noh, mas masaya siguro yun. :)
ReplyDeleteOo nga e, sayang. We thought they could ride the pony kasi naka-saddle. Di pa daw pwede pala kasi may pilay. :|
DeleteAng galing! Benta sa kin yung title pati your daughter's dancing photo haha. How fun would it be if there were mini-zoos in every gasoline station?
ReplyDeleteThere's actually a video of her, dancing. I'm still debating with myself kung iu-upload ko. Haha!
DeleteSuper nice place for a good price! Cute ng photo ng mga girls with the pony!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought, too! Sobrang cheap tas maganda naman yung place. Malinis pa. :)
Deletewow i usually see those dinos but didn't know there was something more in there....
ReplyDeleteThere is! Pero I think they just opened kasi there's an area na di pa tapos gawin yung mga display.
DeleteObvious na hindi pa ako nakakalayo ng Metro Manila kaya hindi ko to alam. Hahaha. Thanks for sharing this. We'll check it out in case we're in the area :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! :)
DeleteA zoo in a gasoline station? Zoooo unexpected nga!! Haha. Natuwa ako sa owl. Kamukha siya ni Hedwig (Harry Potter's owl). Cute pictures of the kids and the pony! I've never seen a pony that small before. Halos kasing tangkad lang ni Brianna. How cute!!
ReplyDeleteSuper liit nga nung pony! Kaya enjoy si Brianna makipaglaro kasi abot niya yung face. Hehe.
DeleteI've seen this zoo before during our last trip to Subic several months ago. Been really curious about it. Finally, I now know what to expect there because of this post. :) We just might stop by at this zoo next time we find ourselves in the area.
ReplyDeleteYes, do drop by this zoo. Okay siya for its size and super linis. :)
DeleteMy daughter had a kiddie-phase also when she's crazy about animals and pets. - edel
ReplyDeleteWho isn't crazy about animals and pets, right? :)
DeleteWhat an interesting attraction for a gasoline station. The kids (and adults alike) will surely enjoy a brief stopover.
ReplyDeleteRight? You wouldn't think na it's a great idea to put a zoo inside a gasoline station.
DeleteThis is very unusual. But if we dropped by a gasoline station and discover that there is actually a zoo there, we would definitely go and check it out. :)
ReplyDeleteRight? Nakakacurious e diba. :)
DeleteThanks for sharing this! We'll make a side trip when we next go home to Pampanga.
ReplyDeleteYou should. Sobrang sulit ang PHP90 mo. :)
DeleteI am sure your kid enjoyed in the zoo. The fee is very affordable and truly educational for kids to get to know the zoo animals in real environment.
ReplyDeleteShe did! Nagulat ako actually sa price ng entrance fee but in a good way. Hehe. :))
DeleteLagi namin to nadadaanan at curious talaga ako what's inside those giant dinosaurs :) ito pala! Thanks for sharing! Sa susunod na lakad namin sa nort, I'll make sure na makadaan kame dito :)
