Have yourself a #MerrySMChristmas

I know, I know. The title's too predictable but we really should all be having a merry little Christmas. Why? Because it is the time of the year that makes you forget all of the problems you had the whole year. It might not be true for all of us but it is indeed true for me.

As I've mentioned in a previous post, 2014 has been a huge bully of a year to me. There have been a lot of challenges, frustrations, and disappointments and I can't quite understand how I've actually managed to pull through (I seriously got to the point of depression) but here I am, still standing, and even managing to laugh and smile despite it all. Kapit lang kay Lord, as they all said, and here I am still alive and kicking.

One of the biggest problems I had this year was the fact that I got laid off from my (online) job. Since I am a single mom, consequently, our finances suffered severely. It's quite hard, not even having the money to even buy a decent shirt for months but I held on tightly to my faith - thanks to the encouragement of my favorite person - and a few days into December, blessings came into my life again: the rebirth of this blog, a couple of partnerships and collaborations for Supermommy Chronicles, possible online work opportunities, and, yes, a few thousand Pesos - in cash.

When all these blessings came rushing in, I had the need to celebrate and share it with the two most important people in my life: Brianna and Alfred.

We celebrated it at SM Megamall. It was nearest my place and, well, Brianna wants to spend hours inside the huge Toy Kingdom store there. To be honest, this is one of my most favorite malls to visit. It's big, it has all the stores I love (read: Cotton On), and the shops seem to be on sale the whole year that my mini financial crisis didn't really feel like it.

Anyway, it's one of the places I go to if I want to find stuff that I can share with everyone. I bought gifts for everyone and as mentioned, we dropped off a bag of toys in the Jollibee Maaga ang Pasko box in the SM Megamall branch. I guess that's what Christmas - #MerrySM Christmas - really is all about. It's about giving, sharing what little you have to those people around you.

Cheska and Kendra Kramer (aaaaaah! <end of fangirling>) shows us how #MerrySMChristmas begins:

After that, I'm pretty sure you'd want to lend a helping hand and SM has a way to help you help others:

For just Php200, you can get an SM Christmas Bear of Joy while SM gives another one to a child in need through the SM Cares Program. If you can't find the money or the resources to put a smile on less fortunate children from orphanages and charitable institutions, the SM Christmas Bears of Joy is the answer to your problem. Php200 is a small amount which will go a long, long way.

Christmas time is giving time; not only gifts but, also, your time so if you want to be updated with the events that are scheduled for the SM Malls, you can visit this link: http://bit.ly/MerrySMChristmas.

Letting go of the negativities and sharing you blessings... They are things that we should be doing all year round, not just the Christmas season. If this is just that easy to do, we will all be living in a world that feels like Christmas all year round.

  1. You're lucky that you live near Megamall. The SM mall nearest us is really small and doesn't really have the stores that I like but we still go there a lot. What I really like about SM this year are the events that they have that help make Christmas merrier for everybody.

  3. Nice campaign for Christmas by SM again. The bear can also be given as a gift.

  5. My place is relatively near Megamall as well but I haven't been to the mall lately... And I don't go there as frequent as I used to due to busy work schedules :(

    1. Sometimes - okay, most of the time - work can get in the way of some things you want to do.
